Product Based Questions

  1. Are your products really 100% natural? Is that possible?

    Yes they are; and not only is it possible, it is preferred. Our ingredients are either certified organic botanicals, oils and butters, or 100% naturally derived, beneficial skin care ingredients such as Vegetable Glycerin (a moisturizer) and Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E).

  2. Can I use Consonant Skincare products if I have eczema/psoriasis/dermatitis/sensitive skin?

    Consonant Skincare products are 100% natural and contain none of the harsh and irritating ingredients, such as sulphates (the leading cause of contact dermatitis) and synthetic fragrances that are found in traditional skin care products. This makes them perfect for anyone that has especially sensitive skin.

  3. Are these products safe for use on my newborn baby?

    Because Consonant products are 100% natural and contain none of the harsh and irritating ingredients that are found in many traditional products, including baby products, they are all perfect for your newborn.

  4. Are all ingredients from Canada?

    While we try to keep as much as we can "close to home", there are some ingredients that simply aren't made in Canada, such as Grade A organic olive oil. It is important to us to put only the best ingredients in our products, so we source our ingredients from all over the world.

  5. Where are your products made?

    All Consonant products are currently made in Canada.

  6. What kind of packaging do you use?

    Consonant packaging is all recyclable. All paper products are sourced from managed forests.

  7. What is the product lifetime for Consonant Products?

    Consonant products are formulated to last at least 12 – 18 months when stored properly.

  8. How should I store my products?

    Consonant products are made with all natural ingredients so they will react to extreme heat or cold. Store your Consonant products at room temperature, out of direct sunlight to maximize product life and efficacy.

  9. Do you test on animals?

    Consonant takes a very strong anti-animal testing stance. We are recognized by with PETA as a company that doesn't do any animal testing; our listing can be found on their site: www.caringconsumer.com.

  10. Are your products certified organic?

    Beware certification as an assurance of purity. Some EcoCert certified skin care products have as little as 12% organic content by concentration. Consonant Skincare is 100 % natural and as organic as possible using certified organic ingredients. The organic concentration varies depending on the product from about 50% to 100%.   12. Are your products vegan?

    The majority of Consonant Products are vegan. That said, there are three products that are not: our Lip Therapy, Olive Oil Body Soap (both contain organic bee's wax) and Goat's Milk Body Soap (contains goats milk).

  13. I am a makeup artist/natural health practitioner. Do you offer discounts?

  14. Product Safety

    All Consonant products have been formulated for use by "people with skin." We are signatories to the Compact for Safe Cosmetics and have provided full disclosure of all of our product ingredient lists to their Cosmetics Safety Database.   1. Product guarantee

    Consonant provides a 100% guarantee on all products. If you are not satisfied for any reason, please call (416) 925-2855 and we will work with you to ensure that you are happy with your Consonant experience. Refund or product replacement will be given depending on the case.

  2. Shipping cost and times

    Orders made on www.consonantskincare.com are processed within 48 hours. You will receive an e-mail notification when your products are shipped. If an item is unavailable at the time you place your order, you will be notified about the wait time.
    Shipping time varies depending on the location in Canada. Please allow 5-7 business days for delivery. International shipments take 7-10 business days.

  3. Customs charges

    Some duty/taxes may apply when placing an international order. The purchaser will be responsible for these charges.

  4. How can I test the products?

    There are a number of ways to test the Consonant products before you buy them.

    1. You get one free product sample with every order.

    2. Visit any of our retail partners to use the testers that they have in store.

    3. Order the Consonant Discovery Kit or Jet Set to try smaller versions of our most popular products.
